Hi Doreen,
I can't speak to what is going on with the posts being replaced by other posts, but the date issues you describe sound like the following jira which was recently resolved:

http://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/MSGCNTR-357

Have a great day,
Michelle

Subject: [Building Sakai] Unknown behavior in Forums

We had a student contact us to report that the posted they posted successfully was replaced by the post of the student listed above them. Add to that another student came along and responded and the title to the students reply matches the title she posted but of course the body of the reply does not match what she discussed.

You can see this in the screen shots below.
NCLB is listed twice by two different students. Nicole reports that her topic was Too close to home. If you look under Nicole post you will see threads reflecting her title.

What also does not make sense to us are the dates listed. You can see from the screen shots that it appears several posts were made at the same date/time. However when you open the individual post you can see that the time captured with the post does not match what is on the main list window. What is the date column used for and how/when is the date captured and updated?

We are left scratching our heads on this one.

See screen shots below.
Note on the screen shot below the nuance with NCLB and the RE: Too close to home also notice that several of the posts have the identical date and time.

In the follow screen you will see that I opened the very first post in the list Trends in school counseling list with they date of Oct 28, 2010 6:22 PM, however you can see below that the student submitted it Oct 24, 2010 9:31 PM

Now after reading the post if I return to the list the date is updated to reflect the time I read the post.

And if I read all the posts in that thread it is updated with the date of the actual post(s).
