[Building Sakai] Edia SCORM crashes Java 1.6

We're interested in trying SCORM. I managed to build the newest Edia code for 2.7.0, with Wicket 1.3.7. However as soon as I try to run the player, the JVM crashes. This has been reported at other sites, but I see no solution. Does anyone know of one? Since Java 1.5 is no longer supported, having software that won't run under 1.6 is a problem.

This is on Snow Leopard with Apple's 1.6 JDK.
