[Building Sakai] CDDL & Sakai

Do you aspire to have the code included in Sakai core? If not, then I don't think the licensing will matter. My understanding (and I hope somebody will correct me if I'm wrong) is that CDDL is fairly similar to LGPL. There could be some legitimate arguments about under what conditions such code should be included in core, but it certainly would be fair game for anything in contrib.

I'm looking at restlet for a service that would be used by Sakai and would run in the same servlet container but that would not actually be directly dependent on any Sakai code.

Has there been a decision on the acceptability of the CDDL license for Sakai code?  I've seen questions and opinions go by but no answer. 

I found this list of acceptable licenses: http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/LIC/3rd+Party+Licenses+and+Software but see no mention of CDDL.
