[Building Sakai] ! Out of swap space?

[Jon Wheat]

just started getting this yesterday - sakai halts - have to reboot the box.
 
Exception in thread "CompilerThread0" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested 3708808 bytes for Chunk::new. Out of swap space?
any ideas?  is that JAVA_OPTS stuff?
