Hi All,

I've attached an updated version of the floating chat tool prototype to
the JIRA ticket at http://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-17524. Some
of the UI is functional, some of it not; the main purpose is to give
Sakai 2 users a feeling for how we might do cross site and tool chat..
I'm currently working on pulling the connection graph from Profile2 and
prototyping some private chat functionality - when I've made some
progress on that I'll attach another prototype.

On a slightly different FYI note ...

At Lancaster we've just started a JISC funded project called CRIB
(http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/vre/crib.aspx) and as part of
this we will be looking into ways of matching Sakai users up based both
on their published materials such as blog posts, forum posts, wiki
materials and profile data. One of the aims of the project will be to
measure how effective this automated matching will be at bootstrapping
enduring and meaningful collaborations. We're hoping to do a talk about
our progress in Denver.

Cheers,

Adrian.
