[Building Sakai] webDAV & windows 7

Hi all,

If I am reading the situation correctly then Windows 7 and WebDav work sort of via the net drive. Sometimes the connections are slow and this may be due to auto negotation that can be turned off through Internet Explorer, but that needs vigerous testing for verification. The IIS service is not needed as mentioned in the last email as the WebDav servers sits as part of Sakai. The instructions on the WebDav resources page needs to be updated and mention opensource clients that consistently work with Sakai and the slightly different workflow of Windows 7.

Hi, 

I found out that on Windows 7, you have to enable some windows
servicesin order to use webdav.  Here is the tutorial that describes how

I enabled the services, and then webdav worked fine for me.

Hi,

the net share solution works for me, but gave me very slow connections
indeed at least on two desktops windows 7 ultimate.

Turn on the IIS Management Console and WebDAV publishing Windows
features, then, at the command prompt, enter:

net use *
