[Building Sakai] Forums Tool Instructor Access

This was something that was done on purpose so there was one role that had access to modify settings/permissions for all forums and topics in a site. Otherwise instructors could get into the situation where they would be unable to modify existing forums and topics.

This sounds like http://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/MSGCNTR-80
The maintain role in this jira is equivalent to the instructor role.

We are using sakai 2.6. In the Forums Tool I cannot hide access to a topic or forum from a site member of role Instructor even though I have unchecked the Permission Level boxes.

I was trying to make the forum only available to a particular group made up of 1 of the site's Instructors and some of the site's Students. However, the forum is available to all the Instructors, but only the Students in the Group.

Has anyone else seen this.
