[Building Sakai] duplicate site loses site membership

I have just been investigating what happens when one copies an existing site. I note that most tools are copied but site membership is not (so neither are the memberships of the groups).

Is this the intended behaviour? I would like to see a checkbox "copy site membership" displayed as part of the copy process.

Have we been through this issue before - is there anything I need to know?
