[Building Sakai] State of the forum tool: sakai.forums and sakai.jforum.tool

What is the state of Sakai's forum tool(s)?

The situation: I have users who prefer the sakai.forums tool. In our
servers, the sakai.jforum.tool is preferred while sakai.forums tool is
not available to be added to sites by normal means. So it seems the
sakai.forums tool may be being phased out.

Will the sakai.forums tool continue to be supported for a while?
