[Building Sakai] sakai email authentication

The exception is just telling you what the mail server is saying. It appears that your mail server is rejecting your authentication information. Do you need to turn on TLS or connect over SSL? Please verify the user/pass your are using.

Iam using sakai 2.6 rc1 with kernel 1.0.10 in that i added a patch for email authentication as per instructions in sakai jira . When i add new particpants with their email address iam getting error in Tomcat 
" Incorrect Authentication data" . can any one tell me what is the error
