Hi Mathieu,

We are running Sakai under Oracle. If you send me a list of the issues you want to know, I can forward it to our DBA.

Thanks for the info. My concerns are more about the database creation parameters as sakai creates its own schema into the database at tomcat first startup. What I want to know is what is the ideal database size. We are using a profile similar to the mini one so there is about 96 tables. Maybe I would have to calculate the tables fields and indexes to approximate the size and I would also ask to use utf8 character set. Is that waht you did prior to database creation?

Thank you very much.

Mathieu

If you are using Oracle 11g, I have heard the connection string

needs to be changed.

If you are running Oracle 9i instead of 10g, you need to use this

setting for hibernate.dialect:

hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9iDialect
