[Building Sakai] special email attachments

I am wondering if anyone is (has been, or will be) working on
http://jira.sakaiproject.org/jira/browse/SAK-1210 or confusing array
of possibly duplicate and related issues.

More and more folks are getting email certificates and if they are
stripped of emails then the users can't validate in their email
clients.

There's a big 'movement' right now for email cert's on our campus
....a stark irony arose when the organizer started using our instance
of Sakai to collaborate.
