[Building Sakai] "Users in Chat" list

Hi everyone,

Has anyone noticed any strange bugs with the list of users in the Chat
tool? Specifically, when the chat room loads, it shows no users in the
list. I think I'm seeing a Firefox bug related to HTTPS + embedded
iFrames..

Here are a few random observations:

- Windows XP + Firefox 3.0.5+ (haven't been able to test 3.0.4 or
earlier), through our production web server (BigIP load balancer and
HTTPS), the list appears empty

- Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex + Firefox 3.0.4 in the same environment works fine

- IE6 and IE7 in the same environment works fine

- If I access Sakai directly against the tomcat server (i.e., no HTTPS),
the user list works fine for Firefox 3.0.5+ for Windows

- After the initial page load, if I use firebug to "touch" the iFrame's
'src' attribute (say, just put a space before 'roomUsers'), it will force
the iframe to reload and it loads fine -- I can now see the user list

- If I load chat tool as its own window (not within the portal iframe),
the user list loads fine in Firefox + Windows

Debugging the code that generates the user list, I can confirm that
Firefox is actually sending the proper request, and the server is
returning the right results. Firefox just renders and empty iFrame, and
the 'Net' tab in firefox shows no evidence of a request the first time
through.

Seems really strange, am I going crazy? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
