[Building Sakai] Sakai-Shibboleth Integration for Sakai 2.6.x?

I'm trying to put Shib on a Sakai 2.6.x dev box here at UNC.  I found
a patch file at
http://devel.it.su.se/pub/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=2376&a=21472 but it
doesn't seem to be immediately obvious how to actually configure and
build the code to make it work on our system.

Is there any additional documentation as to how to make this work?
