[Building Sakai] Helpers in a thickbox?

I¹m running into some issues calling helpers inside a thickbox.  The trouble
seems to be that since there is nothing triggering the ³helper done² part
when the thickbox closes, there are those remnants leftover the next time a
helper is legitimately called.
Anyone have any suggestions for how to clean that up?
Would it be as simple as removing the session value for ³tool.getId() +
Tool.HELPER_DONE_URL²?
