[Building Sakai] Hung/Lost session during file uploads with WebDav

Hi,

I am hoping someone has run into this before and already has a solution.

We are in the midst of intense conversion of materials from WebCT to Sakai
for our Fall Full Production move to Sakai.

One of our guys is busy uploading files to Sakai using the WebDav service.
When he has large files or multiple files that contain a large amount of
content, he will quite regularly get hung up. His session seems to drop
from Sakai, the file transfer stops and he is unable to restart the session
for some period of time (up to 5 minutes). He has tried the transfers on
multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, Unix) and multiple browsers (firefox, ie,
safari).

We have a content.upload.max of 200 MB but I understand this does not affect
WebDav. I read the following on a past post here:

"File Upload limits and session timeouts
Some developers have chosen to reset the content.upload.max in
sakai.properties to change the maximum upload size limit. However, when
uploading very large files the session are sometimes lost during the upload.
A workaround is to increase the default session.lost 30 second time-limit
property in your sakai.properties file. Increasing the timeout may cause
your application server(s) to be slighty less responsive when detecting the
loss of a browser since the default 30 second timeout is keyed to the 10
second pulse of the courier service."

However, I can not find a sakai.property session.lost. Any one come across
this difficulty and/or have any suggestions. We are desperate to solve this
as we have much data to load before September!
