[Building Sakai] Can you add gradingScles to an existing Gradebook

Hi -

   Apparently when a Gradebook is created, it is associated with a list 
of available grading scales.  I
was wondering if there is any accessable API that will allow me to add a 
grading scale to
an existing Gradebook.
