We tried the OpenJDK 7 for Sakai 2.8.1 but had some problems with certain tests randomly failing. We didn't take the time to investigate this further.

We're keen to move to OpenJDK but don't want to do this in the absence of central QA using this platform. This will get around all the problems that you list.

Can anybody say when we wi9ll move to this platform?
