[Deploying Sakai] Issues with Installation

I was wondering is someone would be willing to assist with an issue I am having installing Sakai.  I followed the instructions on the sakai website, but when I try to run the c:\tomcat\bin\startup.bat It appears to hang.  When I try to bring up the webpage by going to http://localhost:8080/portal the page never loads.
Any help would be much appreciated.
