[Deploying Sakai] Profile permissions

No it only converts the data.

I wrote a web service here:
http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/~steve.swinsburg/Additional+web+services+for+Sakai

called 'addNewToolToAllWorkspaces' which you could use to add the tool to everyone's My Workspace. It's in 2.7 and could be dropped into 2.6 SakaiScript.

Alternatively, update the !user site to add the tool and remove the old one, then delete all My Workspace sites. They'll be recreated on next login (any data in them will be untouched, like Resources)

cheers,
Steve

Will the conversion process remove the old Profile tool and the page it's on from everyone's "My Workspace" worksites and replace it with the new tool on a new page (or just pull the old tool off their "Profile" page and replace it with the new one)?

In fact, it just moves the images out of the binary/url field into ContentHosting if a file has been uploaded and the relevant records created in Profile2, since they both share the same backend for where the data resides (both use Sakai_PERSON_T).

I notice that Profile2 is going to be in 2.7. If schools migrate from 2.6.x to 2.7, will the upgrade migrate everyone's Profile tool in their My Workspace sites over to the new Profile tool?

For the Account tool, this was easy--I was able to uncheck the "usr.upd.own" options in the realm settings. However, I can't find corresponding way to restrict e-mail address changes in the Profile tool. Actually, I couldn't find any realm settings for the Profile tool at all. Are there none? Or is there someplace else I need to look for those?
