[DG: Teaching & Learning] question on Samigo test capability

Hi everyone,
Our Physics professors approached me with an interesting request for the Tests & Quizzes tool. In their Introductory Physics labs they use McDermott's Tutorials in Introductory Physics and Workshop Physics. My understanding is these lab manuals are written in an inquiry type pedagogy where students are asked a thought question before they've been introduced to the content. The students formulate an answer and, in a traditional setting, they are directed to go to the teacher with their answer. The teacher then gives them several more prompts that guide the students toward  "discovering" the information.

So what they'd like to be able to do is put a short answer/essay question into the Tests & Quizzes with the first question. Based on the student's response he or she is directed to additional branching questions that either provide more clarification (if they were totally off) or bring the student deeper into the content (if they were on the right track). They explained what they are looking for as similar to the Qualtrics "skip logic" question in a survey where the user is directed to different question sets depending on how they answer the first question. They were also thinking about providing feedback for wrong answers that would then send the student back to try again with more information.

Although this is a cool and interactive approach I wasn't sure how to handle it in Tests & Quizzes. I did think that they could set up different quizzes and then hyperlink/deep link from the feedback into the branching quiz but this isn't the same thing. Any ideas on this?
