Hi all,

As you may know, during last year i18n is being pushed up in order to improve its support in each Sakai release. During last LA conference we had the opportunity to talk face to face with project teams and developers to gather their requirements and needs to improve i18n Confluence documentation.

As a result, and taking Chuck Severance's suggestion of creating a kind of "i18n School" during TCC meeting, we are now in the process of identifying main use cases so that developers can find easily what they are looking for. Until now, we have identified the following use cases:

1. What i18n is.

2. Effects of a bad i18n'ed tool.

                2.1 Effects on dates

                2.2 Effects on number formats

                2.3 Effects on displayed messages

3. i18n in VM

                3.1. Handling dates

                3.2. Handling time zones

                3.3. Handling number formats

                3.4. Handling UI messages

3.5. Handling input data (radio buttons, selects, and so on)

4. i18n in JSF/JSP

                4.1 - 4.5

5. i18n in RSF

                5.1 - 5.5

6. i18n in GWT

                6.1 - 6.5

7. i18n in wicket

                7.1 - 7.5

8. i18n in Trimpath

                8.1 - 8.5

Universitat Politècnica de València will provide part of the resources needed to do so and will record short video tutorials using Polimedia (you can see what Polimedia is at http://polimedia.upv.es/visor/?id=bfb42b31-80c6-444e-a3c2-3cdba31d6952). Universidad Pública de Navarra will help with Confluence management issues and the rest of S2U plus French and Japanese communities will support us on demand.

Of course, any suggestion will be welcome. We would like to create an i18n School useful for everyone so we would also appreciate contributions on short tutorials contents. So, if you are developer and want to work with us, just let us know. Any help will be appreciated. Please, mail us to i18n at collab.sakaiproject.org.

Thanks a lot!!!
