[gradebook2-dev] web service questions

I'm not sure about that, but since gb2 is all gwt, pretty much any
request the front end is doing, it exposed as a rest service.  See
this thread for how I used this for example to dump the csv export
file.  If you simply inspect the http calls that gb2 is doing via live
headers or some utility like that, you can reverse engineer any call
and invoke it directly.
