Hey All,

In emailing with Matthew Buckett, it sounds like https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/RES-47 has been in production in 2.8.x several months. On the other hand, it sounds like it changes a lot of code paths and probably requires a lot of regression testing. And it sounds to me like an edge case, only affects instances of Sakai where set serverUrl is not set in a production instance.  I'm thinking maybe we don't want to merge this one for 2.9.0 but maybe instead for a future 2.9.x or 2.10?
