Hi All,

I have copied the requirements from 2.8 and started modifying for 2.9.0 release notes.

https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/DOC/%5BEarly+Draft%5D+Sakai+CLE+2.x+system+requirements+for+most+recent+release

Here are some of my questions, at least to start:

1) Should I just remove all the examples of institutions and there configurations? I have no idea if these are up-to-date or not and it would take a lot of work to find out. Okay with that?

2) I wrote "You may need to install Java SE 7 on Mac OS X.". Is that true? There does not seem to be an Apple release of Java 7 yet.

3) It says "The Sakai Community is overwhelmingly an Apache http/Apache Tomcat user community… ". Is that still true? What about nginx and others? not catching up?

4) "A few schools such as Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Universidad de Guadalajara report deploying Sakai on JBoss." - more specific examples. Should I nuke'em?

5) "Sakai CLE production installations typically run either Oracle 10g/11g or MySQL 5.0/5.1/5.5." . I added Mysql 5.5 based on recent CLE discussions. Is MySql 5.0 still supported? What about Oracle versions?

6) "Clustering, file storage and load balancing strategies" - I have no idea about this section. Volunteer to review?

7) External Authentication choices looks good, unless their are any major ones missing.

8) "Integrating with student information systems" - I know there are a lot of options. I also know this is very important to schools. Anyone want to take a shot at reviewing?

Thanks,

Neal Caidin
