Reading through the exchange between Brian and Ying it sounds as though there are still some less than optimal behaviors when the responses use rich text.

Yes. I just updated the JIRA and about to send an email   :)

The fix has been committed to trunk. If we can verify the fix in nightly instance, I will merge the fix to 2.9.x.
