[cle-release-team] What are the highlights of the 2.9 enhancements?

Hello,

I'm working on the 2.9 Release Notes.   In the 2.8 Release Notes, about 15
changes were highlighted on the new features page.  Is there anyone in
particular who could identify the 2.9 changes I should highlight?   Or
would everyone like to make suggestions?
