Job Opening at Duke: eLearning Applications Specialist

Duke's Center for Instructional Technology is looking for someone to help provide technical support for Duke's eLearning tools - especially Sakai - and assist with other CIT technical needs.

Responsibilities include:


  *   Provides technical support for Sakai, WordPress and other Duke eLearning tools; participates in support rotations and helps develop or improve support processes as needed
  *   Performs extensive testing for new Sakai developments, patches and integrations, as well as other tools
  *   Assists in the technical testing and evaluation of new technologies CIT explores; provides technical advice and support to CIT Academic Technology Consultants
  *   Participates in open development community listservs (Sakai, WordPress, some Duke-specific) to help keep others in CIT informed about new technical developments
  *   Supports Duke's participation in the Sakai community via listservs, occasional community testing, and contributing to community Jiras
  *   Assists in the development of documentation for CIT, including CIT maintained sites Serves as a backup (for the Head of eLearning Tools and Strategy) with 3rd party vendors and collaborations with the Office of Information Technology (OIT); maintains positive communication with technical partners in OIT
  *   Collaborates on development of reports regarding system usage statistics and trends
  *   Maintains current awareness of trends and issues relative to library information technology and supported applications.
