1. Neal Caidin Appointed Sakai CLE Community Coordinator

I am pleased to announce that Neal Caidin, currently of the Center for
Instructional Technology at Duke University, has been appointed as Sakai
CLE Community Coordinator. Neal has over twenty years experience in IT --
ten of them in education -- and has most recently been closely involved in
Duke's transition from Blackboard to Sakai.

Neal will join the Foundation on August 1st, and will work closely with the
CLE Release Team and Technical Coordination Committee to coordinate and
speed the 2.9 release of the Sakai CLE.

2. Sakai 2.9 b06 Released

Hello Developers,

The Sakai 2.9.0-b06 release is up at:
https://qa29.longsight.com/

Artifacts for other qa servers are here:

You can also build from source as usual from this tag:
https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/sakai/tags/sakai-2.9.0-b06/

This release includes almost 100 fixes, which were merged from trunk as
verified.
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK/fixforversion/12808

All indies were also released as b06. The list above does not include those
fixes.

2.9.0-b07 is expected soon, and will include complete updates primarily for
portal, help and reference for new neo-portal skins and other bug fixes as
they are verified.

3. Gradebook2 v1.8.0 Released

We released Gradebook2 v1.8.0 [1] on June 22, 2012.  This release includes
several bug fixes and improvements to the import/export functionality [2].
UC Davis is running Gradebook2 v1.8.0 (rSmart CLE v2.8.2) in production.

We would like to thank everybody who contributed to this release.

- At least three years of experience in providing technical support for
Sakai CLE

- At least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Desired qualifications are:

- Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate project work with others
- Experience with open source and community source projects

manner and can lead highly effective training experiences (both online and
