[Announcements] Please share your Sakai-specific RFP

Hello,

There is currently a thread on the Educause CIO list requesting examples of RFP's for commercial support of Sakai. The request was made by Mark Walbert from Illinois State University, but it has come to my attention that there are many other institutions seeking this information. Because of this, I think that it is important to post to the list rather than sending the information directly to Mark.

The use of the RFP process to evaluate different options for supporting Sakai is extremely positive and relatively new. It allows institutions to evaluate the nuances of Sakai support models. Historically, we have seen the RFP process used to complete a feature/function product evaluation of Sakai vs. commercial solutions which did not support institutions in evaluating the strategic and community benefits of Sakai. At institutions that require a competitive RFP for technology selections, this is a a valuable shift.
 
If your institution has completed an RFP specifically seeking commercial support for Sakai (rather than comparing commercially-supported Sakai with other LMS options), will you please consider sharing this with others on the Educause CIO list. (http://bit.ly/9MwSFN) In respect for the list members, please do not post general endorsements of Sakai. If you prefer, please send the information directly to me. I will consolidate what is sent to me, and post it.
