Here is the agenda for the Sakai Accessibility Working Group teleconference for Thursday August 11, 2011 at 2pm Eastern / 11am Pacific.

The focus of Today's meeting will be discussing:

JIRAs:

·         Samigo

o   Several critical accessibility JIRAs have been resolved for the Samigo Tests & Quizzes tool and need verified with Mary

§  SAM-1295<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1295> - Multiple Choice Questions in Samigo Are Not Very Accessible

§  SAM-1279<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1279> - Hide Division Feature Is Not Accessible

§  SAM-1228<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1228> (w/subtasks) - Remove onkeypress handlers from links and form controls

§  SAM-1232<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1232> - Many Question Types Marked-Up Entirely As a Level 5 Heading

§  SAM-1231<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1231> - Tabbing off of the "What's This?" link generates a HTTP Status 404 Error Message to appear

§  SAM-1229<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1229> - Username and Password Input fields not labeled on Begin Assessment Page

o   This Samigo JIRA still needs a solution

§  SAM-1296<https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1296> - The 5 Minute Warning Modal jQuery Dialog Message Is Not Accessible (no fix yet)

·         SAK-12189 - Accessibility: Chat Edit options text not associated with radio buttons

o   Implicit labeling of radio buttons. No longer an issue for JAWS 12 + IE. Should we reconsider "fixing" these?

·         SAK-19041 - 508 Compliance ( Color )

o   highlight class (tool_base.css) currently meets WCAG 2.0 AA contrast requirements.

o   Provided suggested colors that would reach AAA requirements with slight change in color.

o   For other options: increase font to 14px bold or 18 points.

·         SAK-20647 - Instructions for opening select element option lists are outdated / inaccurate

o   Many of the subtasks' merge requests seem to have been resolved. Can these be closed?

·         SAK-11199 - Drop-down menus don't work with Screen Readers (Global)

o   Fix identified - needs implemented before 2.9 QA Servers get built

o   Updated Fix to reflect 2.9

·         SAK-20401 - Add & Action Menus in Resources/Drop Box

o   Close as incorporated?

·         SAK-20631 - The "Add" and "Action" menus are difficult for screen-reader users to navigate/use in the Drop Box and Resources Tools

o   Need to pick up where Gonzalo and Kiran left off - Brian will start work on this.

·         SAK-11653 - Buttons with only symbols and no readable text not read by screen-readers (List Navigator, etc.)

o   Need to find all other occurrences and enter sub tasks for them

o   Need to get all subtasks resolved before 2.9 QA Servers get built

·         SAK-11680 - Inaccessible flash object (Wiki)

o   Tried various means of hiding the flash object using CSS and ARIA since existing fix didn't hide the flash object from the screen-reader, all failed to hide it.

o   Joe suggested using wmode parameter on the flash movie itself - will look into that

·         MSGCNTR-30 - Mislabeled form fields on new forum entry page

o   Joe looked into this and the fix has issues.

o   Joe and Brian don't have enough rights to reopen the issue and assign it to Brian, so posted a comment requesting it to be reopened and assigned to Brian

·         MSGCNTR-31 - Table summaries not useful on new forum entry page

o   Joe verified this and Michelle Wagner merged to msgcntr trunk. Can we close this?

·         MSGCNTR-36 - Missing Table summary for the data table on the forums statistics page

o   Joe looked at this and decided the patch's changes should be reverted. Remains unresolved/open.

Closed JIRAs

·         CLOSED: SAK-1735 - WYSIWYG Editor Focus

o   Brian reviewed changes to config.js, they are fine. It's merged into 2.8.x so closed it.

·         SAK-18160 - Change Alternative text for arrow buttons on Preferences/Customize Tabs page

o   The tool changed for 2.9, and this no longer applies. Removed 2.9 as a fix and closed it.

·         SAK-20476 - Accesskey "s" is assigned to two buttons at the same time in the Memory tool

o   Verified and closed

·         SAK-18958 - Select elements with onchange & blur() umbrella issue
